Paola Sanmiguel
M.S. Design, Business & Technology. University of Southern California
Founder and Principal
I am a user research and product strategy leader with 15+ years of experience guiding teams from insight to confident product decisions. I have led research, product development, and beta testing operations at Google, Salesforce, Verizon, Intel, and startups I’ve founded—informing roadmap investments, product pivots, and market strategy. I design research systems that integrate rigorous study design, AI-enabled acceleration, and structured human validation.
My focus: helping product teams build internal capability so they can move faster without increasing decision risk.
I am a Stanford-trained Design Thinking practitioner, Adjunct Professor of Design Research & Product Development, and I am a candidate for ICF Leadership Coaching Certification.
I hold an M.S. in Integrative Design, Business & Technology from the Iovine and Young Academy at USC and a B.A. in Science, Technology & Society from the University of Virginia.
Rafael Sanmiguel
M.S. Finance | B.S. Computer Engineering. The Johns Hopkins University
Founder and CTO
I help organizations design and implement complex, AI-enabled financial and operational systems that turn data into revenue, control, and confident decision-making. By combining a computer engineering foundation with senior public sector finance leadership, I translate advanced analytics, automation, and financial models into solutions that actually work inside real organizations.
As Director of Management and Budget for the City of Miramar, I lead enterprise budgeting, capital planning, and fiscal policy for a $330M operating budget and a $150M five-year capital program. I build multi-year financial and risk-stress models, modernize controls and processes, support labor negotiations, and have led major systems transformations—including technical implementation leadership for a citywide ERP. My work has strengthened transparency, accelerated decisions, and delivered measurable efficiency gains.
I bring a practitioner's perspective to AI and advanced analytics: systems must integrate cleanly, improve governance, and produce results—not just dashboards. I hold an MS in Finance from Johns Hopkins University, a BS in Computer Engineering, and serve on the Miramar Pension Board.
